Serving Western North Carolina, Sage Construction is an Independent Dealer for Honest Abe Log Homes, a log and timber frame manufacturer founded in 1979 and still producing custom-designed, energy-efficient residential and commercial buildings right here in America. Sage Construction is a family business owned by Steve and Patricia Wallin. Having grown up in a rural farming community in WNC, Steve spent his childhood years following every step his beloved grandfather took. In 1923, after selling the year’s tobacco crop, Steve's Grandfather decided to build a home for his growing family. He cut the logs and had them sawed into framing at the local sawmill. After framing the house, he decided on a hand-planed dutch-lap siding and a hip roof for the exterior. For its day, there was no nicer home in the area. Recently, Steve and his family renovated the homeplace, and his son now lives there with his family.

Steve's Grandfather passed on his love for woodworking, and carpentry, and Steve fell in love with the construction process, and feels that everyone should have the opportunity to build a home. Having personally built or overseen the construction of more than 1500 homes in his career, Steve’s unparalleled expertise offers his clients a unique peace of mind to trust that their home will be built with exceptional honesty, integrity, and value.
